Adult BIRTHDAY cakes

A good place to start is a cake that reflects the recipient's hobby or passions. Do they have a favourite film, TV programme, or love musicals? Do they enjoy playing the piano, astronomy, country walks or collecting stamps? Do they love makeup and handbags? Do they order an awful lot from Amazon? Do they love a glass of Champagne or a pint of beer? Are they a petrol-head who loves cars, planes or motorbikes? Why not channel that into a cake?

Like hobbies, sports are a great starting point when planning a cake. Here are some of my favourites including sailing, cycling, rowing, dressage, surfing, horse racing and football. Whether they are an active participant in their sport, or more of an armchair fan, get them a cake that will certainly score a home run!

Sometimes simple and classic is just what you're looking for - whether you opt for clean and classic white or a fully loaded drip cake. Keep it simple with some flowers, or go fully loaded - and why not add a topper or personalised message? 

Easily portable and shareable, cupcakes can be decorated in your choice of style - be it a simple piped swirl with sprinkles, cakes decorated to look like flowers, or handmade sugar decorations to include whatever theme you fancy.
